Since 2015

Our story

From Texas, with love

In Texas, you don’t just serve a coffee: you welcome someone. That idea gave birth to the Texas Coffee House, and it’s still its heart today. Walk in, hear a “Hi, bonjour!”, and you already feel a little bit at home.

From Rue d’Havré to Rue de la Chaussée

  1. 2015

A coffee house straight from Texas

In December 2015, Darrell and Nicole Roberts, a Texan family who fell in love with Mons, open a small café on Rue d’Havré, serving Southern hospitality, homemade desserts and specialty coffee.

  2. Next

Anoushka and Renaud carry the torch

Anoushka Bulthe and Renaud Lecuyer take over the Texas Coffee House and keep what matters most: generous recipes, great coffee and a welcome that makes you smile. Around them, a close-knit team becomes a true family.

  3. 2022

    Rue de la Chaussée

The café moves to number 37 Rue de la Chaussée, right in the pedestrian area. A terrace on sunny days, and weekend brunch as always.

  4. Then

    Baristart Academy

Renaud trains in Italy at the academy of the roaster Dersut, with Nicolas Mosco, Italian espresso champion 2024. Together with Anoushka, he founds Baristart Academy to share the art of coffee.

  5. 2025

    Our own matcha and coffee

In May 2025, the café launches Satsuki Matcha, hand-picked in Uji, Japan. Then comes the Texas Coffee House Blend, its very own coffee, sold at the counter.
